The M5 is a motorway in England. It runs from Junction 8 of the M6 at West Bromwich near Birmingham to Exeter in Devon. Heading south-west, the M5 runs east of West Bromwich and west of Birmingham through Sandwell Valley. It continues past Bromsgrove (and from Birmingham and Bromsgrove is part of the Birmingham Outer Ring Road), Droitwich Spa, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater and Taunton on its way to Exeter, ending at Junction 31. It is the primary gateway to South West England.
M5 Motorway Viaduct (Oldbury) is a minor waterways place on the Birmingham Canal Navigations (Old Main Line) between Chemical Arm Junction (Arm disused) (2½ furlongs to the west) and Oldbury Junction (Junction of Old Main Line and Titford Canal) (¼ furlongs to the northeast).
Marmac Services Ltd have been carrying out works along the route of the viaduct since 2011. We are sub-contracted to fabricate and install access hatches to allow internal inspections. Hatches are installed 6 metres above the deck / water (as applicable) and welded into position.
